元ダブルス世界ランキング１位のペン・シューアイ（中国、35歳）の、中国共産党幹部からの性的暴行被害に告発した事件で、今だ本人の安全と自由が確認できない今、女子テニス協会が中国での大会開催中止を決定しました。
北京冬季オリンピックや、男子テニス協会でも、どういう影響が出てくるのか注目されています。
テニスの1人のファンとして、彼女の無事を祈っています。

Women’s Tennis Association cancels the tournament in China *Shuai Peng issue

In the case of Peng Shuai (China, 35 years old), the former world No. 1 doubles player, who has been accused of sexual assault by a Chinese Communist Party official, the Women’s Tennis Association has decided to cancel the tournament in China, now that her safety and freedom have not been confirmed yet.
It will be interesting to see how this will affect the Beijing Winter Olympics and the Men’s Tennis Association as well.
As a fan of tennis, I wish her well.
