ジョコビッチ、２度目の生涯グランドスラム達成で幕★全仏オープン

全仏オープン男子シングルス決勝は、
第１シードのジョコビッチ（セルビア、34歳）が、第５シードのチチパス（ギリシャ、22歳）を
２セットダウンからの逆転で下し優勝を果たしました。

４時間を超える熱戦でした。
２セットを若さと勢いで先取したチチパスでしたが、続く２セットを王者に奪われると
最終セットは、第３ゲームでブレークを許したチチパスは疲れからパフォーマンスを落とし、ジョコビッチからブレークバックを奪うことはできませんでした。

ジョコビッチは、全ての四大大会を２回以上優勝するという「生涯グランドスラム」を２回達成したことになります。
そして、グランドスラムタイトルは、フェデラー、ナダルの２０個に次ぐ、１９個としました。

眠い目を擦りながらＴＶ観戦しましたが、チチパスの最後まで諦めない、そして紳士的な試合への取り組み姿勢は、共感を呼ぶものがありました。

今日の敗戦をバネに、近い将来、タイトルを獲得することを予感させてくれました。

これで寝不足ともしばらくの間、おさらばです。

ウィンブルドンは、6月28日、ロンドンで開幕です。

The French Open men’s singles final is over.
Top seed Djokovic (Serbia, age 34) came from two sets down to beat fifth seed Tsitsipas (Greece, age 22).

It was an exciting match that lasted over four hours.
Tsitsipas took the first two sets with youth and vigor, but lost the next two sets to the champion.
In the final set, Tsitsipas gave up a serves break in the third game and was too tired to take a break back from Djokovic.

Djokovic has now achieved two “lifetime Grand Slams,” meaning he has won all four major tournaments at least twice.
Djokovic now has 19 Grand Slam titles, trailing only Federer and Nadal’s 20.

I rubbed my eyes sleepily as I watched the match on TV, but I could not help but sympathize with Tsitsipas’ refusal to give up until the end and his gentlemanly approach to the match.
